LAND,
WATER AND SKY
NOVEMBER 14, 2008 –JANUARY 3, 2009
An opening reception will be held Friday November 14, 5:30 -7:30 pm
This exhibition of paintings and sculpture celebrates the existence of our nation's natural rescources. We
seek to remind you of the fragility of the earth’s natural beauty. By focusing attention to art and its inspiration,
we hope to encourage stewardship of our country and our planet to protect our future. Artists included are Greg Mort, John
McCoy, Randall Exon, Bo Bartlett, Jamie Wyeth, Jon Redmond, Francis Di Fronzo, Margery Torrey-Godwin, and Michael Godfrey.
The splendor
of America’s incredible scenery, and wildlife has inspired artists for centuries. This tradition of landscape painting
depends on the continued existence of forests, rivers, oceans, open spaces, wild animals and birds. Then, as now, the voice
of Art remains a powerful means of communication. In this new millennium, we have begun to accept that we live in "One World"
that carries with it responsibilities never dreamt of by our distant ancestors.
